MADRID, DECEMBER 19th, 2024. Last Wednesday, December 18th, marked a key moment in developing the «Begoña Gómez Case,» involving the Prime Minister’s wife, who is accused of four crimes. After the second lawsuit filed by Hazte Oír, alleging the misappropriation of software from the Complutense University of Madrid was admitted for processing, Mrs. Gómez once again took the defendant’s stand. This time, for the first time since the investigation began, Begoña provided testimony, although she only answered questions from her lawyer.

During her statement, Begoña Gómez denied using the software unlawfully, describing the accusations as «baseless» and politically motivated. However, she refused to answer questions from the prosecution and the attorney representing Hazte Oír, raising suspicions that her strategy might be to evade responsibility. Meanwhile, the investigating judge believes there is sufficient evidence, including documents and emails, to proceed with the case.
This new development further intensifies the pressure on the Socialist Party and Pedro Sánchez. Hazte Oír has reaffirmed its commitment to exposing governmental corruption and taking legal action.
The involvement of the Prime Minister’s wife is not the only issue facing the Socialist Party. Added to this case are advancements in the investigation into allegedly irregular contracts awarded by the Organization Secretary of the PSOE during the pandemic and recent revelations of supposed illicit payments to companies linked to relatives of high-ranking government officials. Among these individuals is the Prime Minister’s brother, David Sánchez, who is scheduled to testify on January 9th.
Judicial scrutiny is increasingly jeopardizing the stability of Sánchez’s government amid growing internal and external tensions. Pedro Sánchez, acorralado: la esposa del presidente vuelve a declarar ante el juez gracias a Hazte Oír
- Begoña Gómez, esposa del presidente del Gobierno español, ha respondido por primera vez a las preguntas de su abogado ante el juez tras la admisión a trámite de la querella presentada por Hazte Oír en relación con el «Caso Software».
- Los casos de corrupción que rodean al círculo más cercano de Pedro Sánchez implican cada vez más al líder socialista.
MADRID, 19 DE DICIEMBRE DE 2024. El pasado miércoles 18 de diciembre marcó un momento clave en el desarrollo del «Caso Begoña Gómez,» que involucra a la esposa del presidente del Gobierno, acusada de cuatro delitos. Tras la admisión a trámite de la segunda demanda presentada por Hazte Oír, que denuncia la apropiación indebida de software de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, la señora Gómez volvió a sentarse en el banquillo de los acusados. En esta ocasión, y por primera vez desde que comenzó la investigación, Begoña prestó declaración, aunque solo respondió a las preguntas de su abogado.

Durante su declaración, Begoña Gómez negó haber utilizado el software de manera ilícita, calificando las acusaciones de «infundadas» y con motivaciones políticas. Sin embargo, se negó a responder las preguntas de la fiscalía y del abogado representante de Hazte Oír, lo que ha generado sospechas de que su estrategia podría ser evadir responsabilidades. Mientras tanto, el juez instructor considera que existen pruebas suficientes, incluidos documentos y correos electrónicos, para continuar con el caso.
Este nuevo giro en el caso intensifica aún más la presión sobre el Partido Socialista y Pedro Sánchez. Hazte Oír ha reafirmado su compromiso de destapar la corrupción gubernamental y emprender acciones legales.
La implicación de la esposa del presidente no es el único problema que enfrenta el Partido Socialista. A este caso se suman los avances en la investigación sobre supuestos contratos irregulares adjudicados por la Secretaría de Organización del PSOE durante la pandemia y las recientes revelaciones sobre presuntos pagos ilícitos a empresas vinculadas a familiares de altos cargos del Gobierno. Entre estas personas se encuentra el hermano del presidente, David Sánchez, quien tiene previsto declarar el próximo 9 de enero.
El escrutinio judicial pone en jaque cada vez más la estabilidad del gobierno de Sánchez, en medio de crecientes tensiones internas y externas. Con varios juicios e investigaciones aún en curso, los próximos meses serán decisivos para determinar el desenlace de los casos de corrupción y el futuro político del actual presidente del Gobierno y del Partido Socialista.
